Post doctoral researcher
Ayda Khorramnejad. I hold my B.Sc. in Plant Protection (2006-2010) and my M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology (2010-2013) both from the University of Tehran (Iran). I have defended my Ph.D. (2018) under the international joint supervision of a doctoral thesis at the University of Tehran (in Agricultural Entomology, Biological control of Pest) and at the University of Valencia (in Biomedicine and Biotechnology). My doctoral dissertation entitled “Structural and functional diversity of Bacillus thuringiensis toxins on animal, plant and microbial cells”, was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Baltasar Escriche and Dr. Yolanda Bel (from Spain), and Dr. Reza Talaei-Hassanloui (from Iran). Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher in the CBP group at the Institute BIOTECMED, University of Valencia, on the novel Bacillus thuringiensis strains and toxins. My studies are mainly focused on the characterization of new Bt strains and proteins for development of Bt-based bio-insecticides, Cry proteins mode of action, and plant-insect-entomopathogen interactions.
